We wish to share our passion of music whether as singer, student, musician or listener
We sing to delight and inspire, and to share the passion of music whether as singer, musician or listener
In harmony, ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things.
As is our tradition, each year, the Mayflower Choral Society honors prominent local artistic performer(s). This year we are privileged to honor a whole family.
Reed , David and Jon
We plan a tribute to the Fromer family: David, Reed and Jon as they are honored with Mayflower’s Friend of Marin Arts Award. The father, David, is a singer and recording artist who holds folk music open-houses at his home and incorporates music into his soccer camp. Son Reed, singer/bandleader/songwriter/recording artist/ novelist, teaches and volunteers to bring music to all. David's late brother, Jon Fromer, was a folk musician, TV producer and social-justice advocate.

This year’s event has a “Country” flavor, promising rollicking fun for all. The included dinner is fall fiesta chili with all the fixin’s plus salads, cornbread and dessert. Vegan vittles are available, too, on request.
Meanwhile, the barkeep will be pouring beer, wine and sodas all evening at moderate prices. And the Silent Auction display will offer desirable prizes and an array of gift certificates for shopping and services. All proceeds keep the Mayflower Chorus singing and the Scholarship program funded.
You’ll want to join the laughing, prancing crowd for a lesson in line-dancing. Our DJ will be spinning danceable tunes all evening, with a few “country” numbers on the playlist.

Rita Abrams, our 2011 award winner, has been associated with the Fromers, and, schedule permitting, will take part in their award.
We can still add items to our and Live and Silent auctions: vacation timeshares, event tickets, gift certificates, quality jewelry, quality collectibles or auction-worthy handmade/handcrafted item. Donations will be acknowledged for tax purposes. Please contact:firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
