We wish to share our passion of music whether as singer, student, musician or listener

Alex Taite – Alex is both a powerful singer and an arranger of Negro Spirituals. He is working on a song book of his arrangements of Negro Spirituals (two volumes).  His goal is to perform, write and teach music to those who “crave It’ and to be able to support himself in this endeavors. His dream is to have his song books published and his music recorded, so people everywhere could have access to our fantastic and rich American musical heritage.  He will use his award for vocal coaching and working on his arrangements for his song book.

Amy Goymerac – Amy recently graduated with a Masters in Music from The San Francisco Conservatory. Her long term goal is to be a life-long advocate for the arts and to be able to influence others by either performing or teaching music.  Her short term goal is to be a professional classical vocalist specializing in opera and oratorios.  Her award will go towards her attendance at the Amherst Early Music Festival this summer in New London, CT.

Jason Patrick – Jason has been an elementary school music teacher in the past. In order to make a living his vocal training has moved to the background.  He would like to return to teaching and needs to build back his voice which is the primary skill he would be teaching. He continues to pursue his professional singing career through professional choruses, local churches and community opera performance.

Phoebe Dinga - Phoebe loves having the ability to communicate with people from entirely different cultures, places and languages through music. More specifically she wants to pass down a rare vocal tradition – the art of bel canto.  She has been lucky to study with Olga Toporkova, a vocal teacher who learned this technique.  She wishes to have an international career sharing the rich history of this technique and sharing it with the next generation.  She will use her award to fund participating in a young artist program in Vienna, Austria this summer.
