We wish to share our passion of music whether as singer, student, musician or listener
We sing to delight and inspire, and to share the passion of music whether as singer, musician or listener
In harmony, ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things.
5. Kellie Allen – “Joni Chase Award” – Kellie is a multi-talented singer performing as a soloist, in duets and ensembles, does percussion and is a long time member of the Mayflower Chorus. She has been performing since she was a child. Her mother reports Kellie was able to whistle before she could talk. Her first solo was at the age of four. Kellie has performed in musical groups since then, singing in rock bands and school choirs. Her goal is to explore the full potential of her voice and to challenge herself vocally to sing her best. In her “other” life she is a nurse At Marin General Hospital.
. Carl Oser – This is Carl’s second Mayflower Scholarship award (2013). He participated in our winter 2013 show and received great reviews. He can perform songs from the Great American songbook, play jazz piano, arrange music and teach master classes. He has directed elementary school choirs, designed outreach musical programs, taught music in Ecuador and written a musical score for a LA high school. He added a new line to his resume this past season directing the “High Seas” a women’s’ vocal ensemble in San Francisco. He have developed an interest in composing and composed a piece using an Emily Dickinson poem for a recent “High Sea’s” concert. Carl is the rehearsal pianist for the Novato theatre Company and performs at the Trident Restaurant. He will use his award to continue his vocal lessons.

She was the only high school singer selected to perform in the Santa Rosa Junior College’s performance of “Les Miserable” in 2013. She was recently accepted into the 2014 Merole Opera Student membership program and has attended the Jarvis Conservatory in Napa. She received a first place award in the Redwood Empire NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) competition. Her dream is to perform in opera houses through out the world and to promote singing to young people.
2. Katelan Bowden – This is Katelan’s second Mayflower Scholarship award (2012). She is graduating in June from UC Davis with dual majors – Vocal Performance and English. She recently completed her senior recital in which she sang 17 songs, variously accompanied by a guitar, eight cellos and a harpsichord! Next she plans to audition for the San Francisco Opera. After a few years Katelan hopes to move to Italy and attend a conservatory there with the goal of having a career in opera. Katelan is also a jazz, blues and contemporary singer, performing with several local Davis bands.
1. Erin Marie White – Erin is currently enrolled in the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. When she graduates next year she plans on auditioning for Young Artist Programs with opera companies around the country. Erin would eventually like to travel to Europe, particularly Germany, to sing with opera companies there. She would like to build a career that is focused on new experiences and connecting to the communities around her.
